- Full time help in our show barn.
- Seasonal help in our show barn.
- Seasonal help as part of our “road crew” at major open shows such as Houston, Cattleman’s Congress, and others. This is a contract labor position paying $150/day and typically runs 4 to 6 days.

Position Overview:
BRC Ranch is seeking a dedicated and experienced Show Barn Assistant to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for the daily care and management of our show cattle, halter breaking, and participating in cattle shows and sales. This role is ideal for someone familiar with show cattle and eager to work in a hands-on, physically demanding environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Daily Care and Management:
- Feeding, watering, and washing show cattle (approximately 40 head of Brahman cattle)
- Halter-breaking and preparing cattle for shows
- Cleaning pens and maintaining cleanliness in the barn
- Show Preparation and Participation:
- Assisting with the preparation and travel to approximately 5 open shows per year
- Participating in the working crew at cattle shows
- Showing BRC cattle at major open shows.
- Assisting with picturing and videoing sale cattle and show cattle.
Position Requirements:
- Must have experience showing and managing show cattle.
- Ability to drive a cattle truck and trailer.
- Valid US drivers license.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 75 pounds
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Flexibility to work beyond regular hours during major show and sale seasons
Salary and Benefits:
- $42,000 annual base salary + bonus incentive options.
- 12 paid vacation days per year
- Health and dental insurance options available, with 50% paid by BRC Ranch and 50% paid by employee.
