About the Position
Our Meat Market Cashiers are responsible for providing friendly, knowledgeable service to customers shopping for beef, merchandise, gifts, and other products at The Ranch Downtown.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, is knowledgeable about beef and cooking, is comfortable handling money and operating a register, and can be trusted to independently complete opening, closing, and daily cashier responsibilities.
We’re looking for people who are friendly, dependable, organized, detail-oriented, and take pride in creating a great customer experience.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include:
- Greeting and assisting customers in the Meat Market & Gift Shop
- Accurately ringing up purchases and processing cash, credit card, and other payments
- Operating our Shopify point-of-sale system
- Helping customers with questions about products, merchandise, and available beef cuts
- Maintaining an organized, clean, and welcoming retail environment
- Restocking merchandise, bags, supplies, and retail products as needed
- Keeping displays neat, organized, and customer-ready
- Completing assigned opening procedures at the beginning of the shift
- Completing closing procedures at the end of the business day
- Closing out and reconciling the register daily
- Accurately handling cash and maintaining accountability for the register
- Communicating any register discrepancies, inventory concerns, or customer issues to management
- Supporting promotions, special events, and other Meat Market & Gift Shop initiatives
- Helping wherever needed to keep the retail operation running smoothly
What We’re Looking For
Our ideal applicants:
- Have previous cashier, retail, customer service, or point-of-sale experience
- Have experience with Shopify or another POS system
- Are comfortable handling cash and completing register transactions accurately
- Are friendly, outgoing, and enjoy interacting with customers
- Are dependable, punctual, and responsible
- Have strong attention to detail
- Are comfortable working independently and being accountable for assigned responsibilities
- Can follow opening and closing procedures consistently
- Are organized and keep their workspace clean and presentable
- Take initiative and can recognize what needs to be done without always being asked
- Are willing to learn about our beef products, merchandise, and other items we sell
- Communicate well with customers, coworkers, and management
- Take pride in doing a job well
Previous experience with Shopify or another retail POS system is strongly preferred.
Schedule
Meat Market Cashier positions are typically scheduled in one of two shifts:
- 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
- 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Specific days and scheduling needs will vary depending on current openings.
