Food & Kitchen Policy

Some of our businesses have a small area for food and beverages, kitchens. To maintain a clean, organized, and enjoyable environment, we have established the following guidelines:

  1. General Etiquette: Respect shared spaces by keeping the kitchen area clean, tidy, and free of clutter. Wash your hands before using the kitchen and handle food with care to ensure hygiene.
  2. Refrigerator Use: Label all food items with your name and date before placing them in the refrigerator. Remove expired or spoiled items weekly to prevent odors and maintain a clean space. Clean up any spills or messes immediately.
  3. Ice Maker: The ice maker is for everyone’s use. Leave the scoop on top of the machine. If you use the ice, check the water reservoir and refill with distilled water (under the cabinets) if needed.
  4. Microwaves and Appliances: Cover food when using the microwave to prevent splatters. Clean microwave spills after use. Use appliances (microwave, toaster, etc.) responsibly and follow operating instructions.
  5. Dishware and Utensils: Bring your own dishes, utensils, and containers for personal use. Wash and clean them after use. Refrain from using disposable items whenever possible to reduce waste.
  6. Shared Supplies: We provide basic supplies such as paper towels, dish soap, and cleaning products. Please use them sparingly and considerately.
  7. Cleanliness and Hygiene: Wipe down surfaces, countertops, and tables after use to ensure a clean environment. Wash and dry dishes immediately after use to prevent clutter.
  8. Food Storage: Use airtight containers for storing food to maintain freshness and prevent spills. Do not leave perishable food items at room temperature for an extended period.
  9. Trash and Recycling: Dispose of waste properly in designated trash and recycling bins. Empty trash cans when they are full to prevent overflow.
  10. Allergies and Dietary Restrictions:  Be mindful of colleagues with allergies or dietary restrictions when preparing or sharing food.
  11. Respect for Others: Be considerate of noise levels and avoid disruptive behavior in the kitchen area. If someone is using the kitchen, wait your turn patiently.
  12. Special Events and Celebrations:  If you plan to bring food for a special event or celebration, communicate with your colleagues in advance to avoid excessive quantities.
  13. Personal Responsibility: Take responsibility for your own belongings, cleanup, and maintaining a pleasant kitchen environment.

Special note for BRC Ranch: A mini fridge is provided in the show barn area. This is for customer use only and storage of drinks. Employees are not to store their personal food items in this fridge.

By adhering to these guidelines, we create a harmonious and enjoyable kitchen space that benefits all employees. Your cooperation in maintaining a clean and respectful environment is crucial to fostering a positive atmosphere for everyone.
