We strive to maintain a productive and professional work environment while also fostering a sense of comfort and flexibility. To strike a balance between these goals, we have established a policy regarding gaming and TV streaming that promotes responsible behavior and respectful use of resources:
- Limited Personal Use: While we understand the importance of breaks and downtime, personal gaming and TV streaming should be limited to non-working hours, such as lunch breaks or designated break times.
- Respectful Usage: Employees may engage in minimal personal gaming or TV streaming during breaks, provided it does not disrupt their work tasks or colleagues. Prioritize work responsibilities over personal entertainment.
- Bandwidth Consideration: Gaming or TV streaming are not allowed on company provided internet bandwidth. Employee must use their own hotspot or cell service should they wish to participate in gaming or streaming during breaks.
- Noise and Disturbance: When engaging in personal entertainment, use headphones to prevent disturbing colleagues who are focused on their tasks. Maintain a quiet and respectful atmosphere.
- Meeting Priorities: Gaming and TV streaming activities are not allowed during meetings, presentations, or discussions, as they can be distracting and disrespectful to participants.
- Privacy and Confidentiality: Avoid streaming content that may be considered confidential, sensitive, or inappropriate within the workplace.
- Monitoring and Accountability: Supervisors and managers may periodically monitor internet usage to ensure compliance with this policy and to prevent excessive entertainment activities during working hours.
- Network and Computer Security: Do not download or install gaming or streaming software that could compromise the security of our network and computers. Do not download any games or streaming software on company owned computers.
- Consequences of Misuse: Repeated or excessive misuse of gaming or TV streaming privileges during working hours may result in verbal or written warnings, and in severe cases, could lead to limitations on personal entertainment use or other appropriate disciplinary actions.
