Overview
All new employees are subject to a six (6)-month probationary period (“Probationary Period”) beginning on their first day of work. This period provides both the employee and the company with the opportunity to determine if the position and work environment are a good fit.
Purpose of the Probationary Period
The Probationary Period is designed to:
- Evaluate the employee’s job performance, attendance, and adherence to company policies.
- Allow the employee time to become familiar with job duties, company culture, and expectations.
- Identify any additional training or support the employee may need to succeed in their role.
Probationary Period Timeline

Performance Reviews
- Mid-Point Review: Around 90 days, the employee will receive an informal check-in with their supervisor or HR Director to discuss strengths, areas for improvement, and expectations for the remainder of the probation.
- Final Review: At the end of six months, a formal performance review will be conducted. Employment will either be:
- Confirmed: Employee becomes a regular employee, gaining eligibility for company benefits as outlined in the handbook.
- Extended: If additional time is needed to assess performance, the probationary period may be extended (typically by 30–60 days).
- Terminated: If performance or conduct does not meet expectations, employment may end at this stage.
Employment Status During Probation
- Employment is considered at-will during the Probationary Period and may be terminated by either the employee or the company at any time, with or without cause or notice.
- Employees are not eligible for benefits, including health insurance, paid vacation, or retirement contributions, until successful completion of the Probationary Period unless otherwise stated in their employment contract.
Expectations During Probation
Employees are expected to:
- Demonstrate punctuality and reliable attendance.
- Learn and apply company procedures and policies.
- Meet performance goals and deadlines.
- Maintain professional conduct and positive teamwork.
